Today is one of the days that give me pure joy about being a blogger, and specifically, a blogger striving to help busy families find cool products that they NEED. Let me tell you about a service that I just started using myself and that I can’t believe is even real (but it is!).
There is a new monthly subscription service called GrooveBook. Before I even tell you what you get every month, let me tell you the cost: $2.99. That’s it.
Now for what you get every month: up to 100 pictures that you took on your smart phone printed in an adorable keepsake book and delivered right to your front door! The pictures even have perforated edges in case you want to take them out of the book and give them to people (like the grandparents) or have them framed.
So to recap: $2.99 gets you 100 printed and mailed photos that are on your phone just taking up space. For me, personally, I currently have over 800 photos on my phone, and I’ve never known how to print them in an easy and affordable way. So they have just been sitting there. I have newborn pictures of my first child on there for goodness sake! Here’s how I used to get photos off my phone:

1. email myself the picture

2. upload the picture to my desktop computer

3. log into to a printing service like Walgreens and upload the picture

4. request that the picture be printed and then pay for it.

5. drive over to Walgreens to pick up the picture.

I have done this a grand total of 2 times. It is just a pain in the rear! GrooveBook is SO much easier, and it is cheaper, too! To get 100 prints for $3 is 3 cents per print AND you don’t have to go pick them up! I have pretty much never found a better deal on printing pictures.

I ordered my book 7 days ago and it was super easy. It is all done through an app on the phone. As a first-time user, I’d say it took me about 10 minutes to get everything set up and ordered. Next month it won’t take me as long.
Here’s what showed up in the mail 2 days ago!
This is the cute booklet that the pictures are in.
how to print pictures from your phone I was really excited to see that each picture was stamped with the date, time and location where it was taken. So cool!
Each picture has perforated edges so you can tear them out and frame them or share them with others!

Here Comes the FREE Part…

Speaking of next month or any month thereafter, I can cancel my subscription to GrooveBook at any time. There is no commitment to stay on for a certain number of months. And $2.99 is the price every month (yes, that includes shipping!). That isn’t an introductory offer! In fact, I actually have an introductory offer for you: 100% free for your first order! Use the code GROOVEPARENTSNEED to get your first book absolutely free. Woo hoo!!!!!! You will be asked for your credit card information at check out, but you will not be charged thanks to the code above.
Having trouble wrapping your head around the concept? Watch this short video. I watched it, and by the end of it I was grabbing my phone to download the app!

So what are you waiting for? Go get your FREE photos printed right now! Don’t forget to use code GROOVEPARENTSNEED at checkout to get your first book 100% free! Let me know if you try it!!!

How is the quality of the prints? I used to print pictures at Walgreens and they always looked so terrible I never wanted to use them in frames or scrapbooks. I already signed up and ordered my first book. But I probably should have asked this question first! lol

You sure can! I got this info from the site: If you would like an extra book before your monthly deadline, please feel free to contact us at info@groovebook.com once you have uploaded 100 photos. We will ship your photo book out immediately and this will cost another $2.99 for shipping and processing.

Great question. At this time, they only come in one size. I think only offering one size is one way that they can keep the price so low. One thing you can do that not everyone realizes, though, is order multiple copies of the same photo, which is awesome for things like holiday cards or gifts to multiple grandparents. Hope that helps!

This looks like a fabulous and inexpensive way to print pictures…. but I’m kinda confused that people don’t know how to take their pictures and videos off their phones?? I just plug my phone in to my computer via the cord and it automatically asks if I want to download them to my computer– yes, I have an mac so it goes straight to iphoto but I can put them straight to my non-apple laptop from my phone as well. Then you can print them from there (through walgreens or Costco or shutterfly, whatever) if you want, post to facebook, email, etc etc- at the very least just have them all saved somewhere other then your phone. This is a cheap way to print but just wanted to make sure people knew there was a way to save them. :)

Thank you for this! I don’t have a smartphone yet, but I’ll be giving in and getting one here shortly and I’ll make sure to sign up! This is a great resource, especially for scrapbookers! Would be great for Project life in 2014. :)

Hi! This is great, thank-you! I will try it. Also, just so you know, you can use the Shutterfly app to upload all the photos you take directly from your phone. You can order prints and gifts, etc. or just back your photos to Shutterfly.

How amazing is this!?! I have over 2,000 pictures on my phone and I am always worried something will happen to my phone and I will lose it all; thank you for this! :)

Great question! I just went to their FAQ section and found this:

Why do you only ship to the US?

We’d like to keep the shipping cost as low as possible for our customers and have figured out a special (patent-pending) way to do this. We will hopefully start shipping to other countries very soon. If you would like to send a book to someone outside the US, please first ship the book to yourself.

It is seriously my new favorite online find. By the time I print my second book, I will have 200 print copies of photos that were mailed to my door for a total cost of $3. That is nuts!!!
