Good morning, friends! (said in my, “I just had some coffee!” voice)

For those of you who have cable and/or who are simply “in the know” about cool television shows, you likely know about Shark Tank.

Yours truly just got schooled in what it is, because I’m not cool like that. It sounds really interesting, and it actually isn’t about sharks at all (I seriously thought it was…). Small businesses come on the show and have the opportunity to present their company to “sharks” (which is evidently something investors are called…guess that shows you how savvy I am with investment lingo).

ANYWAY….

Groovebook, also known as my favorite app of all time, is going to be on the show TONIGHT! ABC airs is at 9pm EST tonight. They are going to kick butt, I just know it!

My Curated “Before Christmas” Gift Suggestions

If you hunt around on Stuff Parents Need, you will find several hundred (likely approaching 1,000!) finds I have discovered over the past 4 years that could be great holiday gift suggestions for folks on your list.

But today I want to talk about the things I think you should consider getting BEFORE the holidays are here (and they are almost here, so hurry up!). Think of them as gifts to yourself! These are items that can help make the holidays more festive and fun, and prepare you for send out yearly family letters or make some fun crafts without costing you an arm and a leg. 1. The Elf on the Shelf. This has seriously got to be the best $30 I have ever spent. Darah is completely nuts about her elf, whom she named Owen. He moves around the house daily, and he is NOT a naughty elf (mama ain’t got time for that!). Darah talks to Owen, dances for Owen, brings Owen marshmallows, and sings for Owen. I almost die pretty much every single day from the cuteness of it. He has brought some serious Christmas joy to our house, and a feeling of magic. He has only been with us for a month (yes, he cam early) and he is already a family treasure that I know we will have for decades to come.

Groovebook is my favorite app of all time, hands down.

5. Kiwi Crate. This is one of my very favorite subscriptions, as it helps busy and/or non-crafty parents like me put together truly awesome crafts and activities for the kiddos. Grandparents Day: You Forgot, and I Can Help!

Grandparents Day is on Sunday, September 8th. That is 15 days away. And you forgot, didn’t you?

How to Print Pictures From Your Phone for FREE

Today is one of the days that give me pure joy about being a blogger, and specifically, a blogger striving to help busy families find cool products that they NEED. Let me tell you about a service that I just started using myself and that I can’t believe is even real (but it is!).

There is a new monthly subscription service called GrooveBook. Before I even tell you what you get every month, let me tell you the cost: $2.99. That’s it.

Now for what you get every month: up to 100 pictures that you took on your smart phone printed in an adorable keepsake book and delivered right to your front door! The pictures even have perforated edges in case you want to take them out of the book and give them to people (like the grandparents) or have them framed.

So to recap: $2.99 gets you 100 printed and mailed photos that are on your phone just taking up space. For me, personally, I currently have over 800 photos on my phone, and I’ve never known how to print them in an easy and affordable way. So they have just been sitting there. I have newborn pictures of my first child on there for goodness sake! Here’s how I used to get photos off my phone:

1. email myself the picture

2. upload the picture to my desktop computer

3. log into to a printing service like Walgreens and upload the picture

4. request that the picture be printed and then pay for it.

5. drive over to Walgreens to pick up the picture.

I have done this a grand total of 2 times. It is just a pain in the rear! GrooveBook is SO much easier, and it is cheaper, too! To get 100 prints for $3 is 3 cents per print AND you don’t have to go pick them up! I have pretty much never found a better deal on printing pictures.
