Chuck E. Chees Launches a Gluten-Free Menu

November 14, 2013 · by Tiffany Merritt · 2 Comments

If you are the parent of a child who has dietary restrictions you know how disappointing it can be for them when they aren’t able to participate in what are the typical fun kid activities like birthday parties at themed restaurants.  I am so excited to be sharing the great news that on November 13th, the New Chuck E. Cheese Gluten Free Menu was launched at more than 500 locations! Thanks to the new offerings, Chuck E. Cheese is now an even better location for more children to enjoy a typical classic birthday party.

Chuck E Cheese Gluten Free Menu

The New Chuck E. Cheese Gluten-Free Menu

Knowing that kids are the pickiest when it comes to a different menu item, Chuck E. Cheese has definitely put hard work into creating a fun and tasty Gluten Free Menu that will satisfy the kids and adults who need it as well as appear close enough to the traditional menu that they won’t feel singled out for eating something “different”.  We all know how much fitting in and being the same as everyone else can impact a young child.  Parents will also appreciate the fact that they don’t have to (1) bring something from home that singles out their child (2) spend twice as much for the meal as they would the traditional menu.

The Chuck E. Cheese new Gluten Free menu consists of only 2 items at this time but they are the classic items that will appeal to almost all children and adults.  They are offering a gluten free cheese pizza as well as a gluten free chocolate cupcake.  While you can also partake of the salad bar offerings and request preferred toppings to be added to your cheese pizza they don’t currently have any pasta dishes available.  With the launch of the new menu at only 500 locations a good response will only increase the desire of the corporation to introduce more items as time goes by.

Currently the Chuck E. Cheese Gluten Free menu is not a part of their birthday party packages but if you know you will have children in attendance at your party who are in need of gluten free food you can request that it be added separately.  Being able to sit down to their own personal pizza that looks just like the other kids will surely be a plus factor for those in attendance who otherwise might feel singled out and sad they can’t enjoy pizza like the rest of the gang.

For further information about the launch of the Chuck E. Cheese New Gluten Free Menu and to see if it is available in your area feel free to contact them directly at 1-888-778-7193.  Their staff will be happy to share with you full nutritional information and listen to your comments or concerns regarding this upcoming menu launch.

And don’t forget to check for Chuck E. Cheese coupons before your next outing! You can save quite a bit of money with just a few clicks!

There are two main ways to get Chuck E. Cheese coupons. The very best coupons are offered to Chuck E. Cheese email subscribers. They will send coupons straight to your inbox. I subscribe, myself, and they really don’t send a ton of email. In fact, I kind of wish they would send more, because most every email they send has great coupons! 🙂

Great Chuck E. Cheese Holiday Promotion and GIVEAWAY!!!

December 14, 2011 · by Tiffany Merritt · 153 Comments

A few weeks ago I took Darah up to North Carolina to visit my BFF and for our little girls to have great “cousin time” together. One of our adventures was a trip to Chuck E. Cheese. It was Livy’s very first trip to the place where a kid can be a kid, and the third time for Darah, who is by now a HUGE fan.

We visited the Durham establishment, and were excited to hear that they had just received a shipment of brand new games that morning. It was so much fun to be some of the very first people to get to play! We placed an order for our pizza, got some milk for the girls (which I very much appreciate seeing on the menu), grabbed a booth and grabbed some tokens to go play.

Except that the girls didn’t want to go play games. That’s because this Chuck E. Cheese had a full animatronic band and they were mesmerized from the start. After we ate our yummy cheese and pineapple pizza, the girls finally started to notice the room full of fun games, and we were off to play. The girls especially loved the games and rides that took their pictures as part of the fun.

I really appreciate that each and every game costs just one token. Leslie and I had a bit of fun of our own, spending quite a few tokens on Deal or No Deal. Here you will see some shots of us gambling playing for tickets for our kiddos. Sometimes we did awesome. Other times, not so much!

This holiday season, you can give the gift of fun and laughter by purchasing a Chuck E. Cheese gift card for another family or for your own. The best part is, you don’t have to go to Chuck E. Cheese to pick one up! You can find them at participation CVS, Target and Walgreens stores and can load any amount on them. That’s definitely something I’d love to find tucked away in Darah’s stocking this year. Are you listening, Santa Claus? You know you need to make a Target run this week, so pick up this gift card while you are there!

Win it!: One lucky Stuff Parents Need reader is going to get a super fun guest pass from Chuck E. Cheese, which includes a 1 topping pizza, 4 drinks and 30 game tokens. A few hours of fun, on the house!

The Chuck E. Cheese Experience: Review and GIVEAWAY!!!

August 3, 2011 · by Tiffany Merritt · 234 Comments

Until recently, the last time I had been to Chuck E. Cheese’s was sometime in middle school. Come to think of it, it may have even been elementary school. I think it’s a safe bet to say it’s been 20 years since I have been inside of one. What I remember of it is that it was really noisy, really fun, the life-sized animatronics were cool and the pizza was pretty bad.

But again, that was 20 years ago. Probably time to see what has changed!

We took Darah to Chuck E. Cheese for the first time recently, and I’m excited to tell you about our experience.

We arrived at Chuck E. Cheese about 10 minutes after they opened on a Saturday. To our surprise, we were the only folks there. In fact, we were the only guests for almost the first hour! This was AWESOME!!! We were all able to run around freely and explore, and Darah had the opportunity to get used to the sights and sounds before other kids got added to the mix. So my #1 tip for going to Chuck E. Cheese if you want to avoid the crowd is to be willing and ready to play at 9am when they open!

One thing I observed that I loved, as well, is that Chuck E. Cheese puts an invisible stamp on the arms of everyone in the same party. It’s a unique number for each group of people. The reason they do this is so that when you leave, they can make sure that the right adults leave with the right children. That is a very cool feature, and I’m delighted to see it. It can give parents an added feeling of security knowing that every adult and child will be checked at the door.

Darah had an absolute blast at Chuck E. Cheese. It took her a few minutes to get really into all the games, as you can see by the serious look on her face while riding Clifford, her very first ride. 🙂

But she quickly found her groove and spent a great deal of time running from machine to machine. We had 30 tokens to spend, and in the 2 1/2 hours we were there, that was plenty for Darah! I LOVED that every single game in the entire place only cost 1 token to play. I was just certain that some of the games would take 2 or even 3 tokens, but they didn’t! It’s nice to know that however many tokens you buy, that’s how many games you’ll get to play. Tokens are 25 cents each, or you get a price break if you spend $10 on tokens, as you will get 50 instead of 40 (which is a good deal, I think!).

Even Tim got in on the fun. There are many games at Chuck E. Cheese that are great for older kids and even for adults. Here you will see Tim taking on one seriously mean gorilla. Tim fought a good fight, all the way to the end of the game, and was subsequently rewarded with 4 tickets for his efforts. Way to take one for the team, Tim.

I will say that I was disappointed in the updated “live” show. I think the old school Chuck E. Cheese band was one of my favorite things about the place as a kid. Now there’s just one large moving animal up on stage, and the rest is television screens that play really cheesy music videos and some flashy lighting. I found that to be not nearly as cool as what I grew up with, but maybe it speaks more to today’s kids, who likely aren’t as easily impressed with robots that only move in a few different directions.

When we arrived at Chuck E. Cheese, we placed the order for our pizzaand requested that it be ready at 11. Sure enough, it was on our table at 11am sharp! The pizza has recently been completely overhauled. They’ve got new dough and new cheeses that they use. We dug in, and here’s my opinion on the pizza: it’s good. It’s not great. But it’s not bad like I remember. It is quite tasty. I actually think the amount of sauce and toppings is pretty much perfect for kids, but adults may find themselves craving a bit more. Tim and I ate 2/3 of the pizza by ourselves (with Darah nibbling on our pieces here and there), and we probably could have eaten more but we decided to show some restraint. The pizza, in terms of its weightiness, reminds me much more of something from Ci Ci’s than something from Papa John’s. So the price tag (I think $15 for a large is the standard price) is a bit steep.

HOWEVER, keep in mind that places like Papa John’s aren’t also providing you with a unique entertainment experience. Yes, the food is a bit expensive for the overall quality, but if you buy one of their combo packages that includes your pizza and your tokens, I actually think you are getting a killer deal for a morning or afternoon of fun with your family. I would absolutely take Darah again to Chuck E. Cheese, and I’d buy the pizza again, too!

Win it!: One lucky Stuff Parents Need reader is going to win a Chuck E. Cheese guest pass which includes 30 tokens, 4 soft drinks and a large pizza. Woo hoo! The contest will run until August 13th at 11:59pm EST when a winner will be selected via Random.org.
