My Little Flower Child (December Fashion from FabKids)

December 16, 2015 · by Tiffany Merritt · 1 Comment

Thanks to FabKids for providing this month’s dress. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Referral links may be included at no cost to you.ย

Earlier this week I had Darah’s hair in several different braids. When we took them out the following morning, she had such pretty waves. Since her hair is long and sun-kissed, she looked like quite the flower child!

And she had the perfect dress for the look. This month she selected the Flower Power dress from FabKids. As I snapped some photos of her I was simply awe-struck at my baby girl. I spy a 16-year-old in there, and getting that glimpse just threw me for a loop!

If you aren’t familiar with FabKids, it’s a hassle-free subscription service and a great way to get some fun, functional and on-trend outfits for your boy or girl from sizes 2t-12. At the start of the month you are shown a great selection of options (most priced at $29.95 for a top and a bottom) and you can choose one or skip the month with just the click of a button. It’s so easy!

My girls both have several FabKids outfits, and we find that they wear really well at school because they are comfortable. We’ve also given outfits from FabKids as gifts, and they have always been well-received!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it seems that this particular style is sold out right now! But check out the FabKids boots selection because they have dozens of looks that you just might love.

Now let’s talk about the whole outfit.

fabkids hippie dress 2 They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and the look little Layah gave the camera says an awful lot. She LOVES this outfit and I think it’s safe to say that she feels quite confident in it ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think the whole looks is just adorable. This is the Boho Love outfit, which you can get for $29.95 (includes dress and leggings in your choice of colors). It’s a winning outfit, for sure. And the pattern of the dress is so bright and cheery!

Holiday Style from FabKids

October 27, 2015 · by Tiffany Merritt · Leave a Comment

Special thanks to FabKids for the complimentary outfit. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own. We are proud FabKids customers! Referral links may be included.ย

We are still and handful of days away from the kids wearing their Halloween costumes, but it’s already time to be thinking about their holiday outfits. Fortunately, this doesn’t have to be a difficult (or expensive) decision for you to make in the midst of everything else on your list. I highly recommed checking out the holiday shop at FabKids!

There are SO many great snazzy looks for the season there. Truly, there’s something for everyone! Darah selected this super fun black, gold and red ensemble.

fabkids holiday 1 The dress and the pants come together for a reasonable price of $29.95! Search for the red glimmer outfit on the site to find it. It’s sold in sizes 2T- 14.

One of the things I love about FabKids clothing is how easy it is to still be a kid in their clothes. They are designed for movement and playfulness, for sure. That’s one of the reasons why my kids reach for their FabKids clothes again and again!

fabkids holiday 2

We also did some experimenting with a holiday hair do. I simply created two braids and then pinned them up in a criss cross fashion. It was shockingly simple and looked so adorable!

fabkids holiday 3

Be sure to check out the holiday looks for girls and boys and see if you can find the just right outfit. You won’t have to brave the mall this time of year, and if you need to make an exchange due to fit (or whatever the reason!) FabKids makes is SUPER easy. Truly they offer a hassle-free shopping experience, which is yet one more reason why we shop with them frequently.

I’d love to hear if you’ve even started thinking about holiday outfits for the year, yet. Do you have a favorite FabKids look? I’m totally swooning over the twilight outfit!ย

Make a World of Difference for Girls’ Education by Donating Your Clothes to Schoola

October 22, 2015 · by Tiffany Merritt · 1 Comment

Thanks to Schoola for partnering with me for today’s post, and especially for partnering with the Malala Fund!

We’ve talked before about the gently used clothing store online called Schoola. It stands apart from similar type sites because 40% of the proceeds from every sale go to schools! In fact, you can earmark your donations to benefit a specific school of your choosing in your own community, which is absolutely AMAZING!!!

malala fund donations

Schoola has recently partnered with The Malala Fund (an organization I blogged about recently!). The Malala Fund works to secure girls’ rights to a minimum of 12 years of quality education. Can you imagine, just for a moment, how our world would change for the better if The Malala Fund achieved it’s purpose? With your help, they can!

Check out my video below for details on how you can help support The Malala fund at no cost to you other than your gently worn clothing that you no longer need.

You can even request a Malala Fund bag, specifically!

malala donation bag

Additionally, you can help The Malala fund, as well as schools all over our nation, by shopping at Schoola.com. To sign up for your own account you can use my referral link and snag $20 in credit to use, no strings attached! ๐Ÿ™‚ A donation bag will be included with your purchase, or if you prefer not to shop but only to donate, simply request a bag and one will be sent to you for free.

Not every person can write a big check to a worthy cause, but most of us have at least a few items of clothing that no longer fit or that simply aren’t our style, after all. Please consider donating those items and consider it a step taken to help change the world for the better.

Animal Prints and Lace: Welcome Fall 2015 Fashion for Girls

September 23, 2015 · by Tiffany Merritt · Leave a Comment

Thanks to FabKids.com for providing Layah’s great style shown below. Referral links included. I’ve been a happy customer of FabKids.com for over a year, and I love sharing about them!

Happy Fall!!!!! I’ve been in the best mood all day because despite the pumpkin-spiced EVERYTHING you’ve been surrounded with for the past 3 weeks, fall didn’t actually start until today.

Layah selected an outfit from FabKids.com earlier this month and I promised her that she could wear it on the first day of fall, even if the weather wasn’t really ready for her boots.

Oh, and they are quite some boots!

fabkids september 3

She’s rockin’ the Leopard Faux Fur Fuzzies from FabKids (currently priced at $34.95) and she did not care that today’s temp will top out at 84 degrees. It’s fall, so the fur is coming out! ๐Ÿ™‚

And what about that lovely green lace you spy? This is the green lace dropwaist dress with black leggings. You can buy the dress for $26.95, or as a VIP member, get it with black leggings for just $29.95! ๐Ÿ™‚

fabkids september 2015

If you aren’t familiar with FabKids, it’s a VERY laid-back subscription service offering boys and girls clothing in sizes 2T-12. On the first of the month, you’ll be presented with a look book, filled with awesome outfits you can customize to your liking (for example, you can choose from a selection of bottoms to pair with your top). If you don’t see anything you like, you click a button and skip the month. If you like something, you can put an outfit together, usually for $29.95. If you totally forget to skip or choose, you’ll have $29.95 credit in your account waiting for you to spend at your leisure.

FabKids.com has all sorts of great clothes that are on-trend, comfy, and best of all, that don’t require a trip to the mall. If you need to make an exchange, it’s hassle-free (I speak from experience!). I highly recommend this great company; my girls get compliments on their FabKids outfits all the time!

And if you like really great deals, this site often has really good sales! I actually purchased a TON of stuff on the site earlier this month when they had a huge Labor Day sale (VIP members got early access to it so I had the best selection!).

How I Get Kids Clothes Cheap (Free, Actually)

June 1, 2015 · by Tiffany Merritt · 6 Comments

I have been getting kids clothes cheap (and by cheap I really mean FREE) for a few months now thanks to an amazing referral program that I’d like to share with you so that you can get some kids clothes cheap, too!

kids clothes cheap

Ok, so I’ve been using Schoola.com to find my major bargains. Schoola is a website I reviewed a while back (you can see my first haul video as part of the post). They sell gently used clothing that people donate, and 40% of every sale goes back to the school that the donor indicates. So while it’s not a great site for sellers who would benefit more from cash or from a tax deduction, it’s a GREAT place for shoppers, and of course, a great place for schools, too!

The other thing I love about Schoola, and the reason for this blog post, is that, at least for now, they have a very generous referral policy. If you refer someone to Schoola, when they make their first purchase, YOU as the person who referred them get $15 in credit. The new person benefits by getting $15 in credit and free shipping for their first purchase.

So you see, this is a MAJOR win/win. You introduce someone to a great used clothing site and they get $15 and free shipping (so they could definitely get kids clothes cheap!) and you get credit for your next purchase.

Schoola also often runs great specials (free shipping no minimum seems to be fairly frequent, and they recently did a HUGE 50% off sale!). So I spend my credits any time they are running a special so that I can maximize those credits. I have placed at least 4 orders now, all with anywhere from 1-13 items in them, and I have spent $0 of my own money…it was all credit from referrals!

So now that I have introduced you to this gem of a find and helped you out, please help me keep my growing kids attired by going through my referral link. Once you are signed up and have spent your free $15 (woo hoo!) grab your own referral link and spread the word far and wide. Your friends will thank you, and you’ll earn more credit for more free or at least cheap clothes! ๐Ÿ™‚

And just to show that I’m fully transparent, here’s my latest haul video, which includes a few of my complaints about the Schoola experience, and some tips for how to maximize your chances for success when shopping on the site. They have some improving to do, but as long as they are giving away credit to newbies and running great sales, I’ll continue to try them and just offer my feedback!

Summer Styles for Your Littles to Love

May 26, 2015 · by Tiffany Merritt · Leave a Comment

Complimentary outfit provided for review purposes. All thoughts and opinions are my own, as always.ย

I continue to love the looks put out by FabKids, and my children continue to reach for their FabKids clothes first whenever they are clean and hung up in the closet. This company seems to have mastered the art of combining fun styles that kids love with comfort that they also crave since they are busy playing throughout the day and need clothes that can keep up!

This month I have two major loves from FabKids. First, is our new outfit selection for the month, which is the Summer Stripe Tutu dress paired with navy leggings.

fabkids may 2015 3

This dress is reminiscent of one of our all-time FabKids favorites, which Darah wore on her first day of kindergarten and many MANY times after that.

We’ve already washed the dress at least 3 times (due to it being constantly picked!) and it holds up just fine in the washer. The colors are also just so vibrant and fun; it’s really such a great piece!

fabkids may 2015 1

And the navy leggings are a great pairing for cooler days or for times when your child might be rocking the playground equipment and need a bit more coverage. Neutrals like that will pair with tons of other stuff in her wardrobe, which will make them a great item to have in her collection.

The other thing I am continuing to love is what I call the “fire dress” that I featured last month. I loved it so much, in fact, that I ordered it for each of my nieces on my husband’s side of the family during our recent gathering together for my father-in-law’s memorial service. We live scattered all over the world, so we only get together as a big group every other year. Such an occasion warranted some matching dresses! ๐Ÿ™‚

quaker alternate 1

Aren’t they cuties? Let me tell you, it was worth every single penny, because all of the girls ADORED their dresses and spent the better part of the day twirling around in them! ๐Ÿ™‚

New to FabKids?

If you aren’t familiar with FabKids, you should definitely check it out (when you sign up through me you get 2 outfits for the price of 1 plus free shipping on your first order!). This is an outfit of the month club and it is SUPER easy and flexible, so no worries about getting locked into something you don’t really want. You get new outfit selections (which are plentiful!) on the first of the month and you have until the 5th of the month to either choose an outfit (outfits are mostly $29.95…some are $34.95) or to skip the month. Skipping is EASY…just a few clicks! Trust me, I have skipped quite a few times, myself!

If you forget to log in and skip you will be charged on the 6th and will simply have an outfit credit on file to use any time you like. So you won’t be shipped something that isn’t right for your child as a default. I love that!

Only once have I been disappointed with an outfit purchase, and FabKids very quickly fixed the problem for me with absolutely no hassle. Otherwise, FabKids outfits are pretty much instant hits around here!

The Perfect Dress for a Great Ball of Fire

April 28, 2015 · by Tiffany Merritt · Leave a Comment

Outfit provided for review consideration. All thoughts and opinions are my own. We are happy FabKids customers!ย

My little tiny baby bird is just about to turn 3. And friends, if these past couple of years are any indication, then what a mighty 3 she will be!

fabkids fire dress 1

She has the sweetest, most demure given name, but her spirit is much closer to a great ball of fire, indeed!

And so, isn’t this the perfect little party dress for the occasion?

fabkids fire dress 2

It’s the princess fire dress, and it’s available for $29.95 for FabKids VIP members (and it also comes with black leggings, not pictured). FabKids is an online clothing store for boys and girls, sizes 2T-12. You can shop a la carte directly from the website, or you can snag great discounts by joining the VIP program, which we have happily been members of for close to a year now!

The VIP program is SUPER easy and not at all scary, because you have complete freedom to make a purchase or not every month. On the first of each month, you get an email letting you know that new items are in the store for you to check out. If you see something you like, select it and it ships to you for $29.95, which is a discount over the retail price on the website. If you don’t see anything you want or need, or if the budget just doesn’t allow for a new outfit that month, you simply skip that month by the 5th of the month. You don’t have to call in; it’s a simple, easy to find section of the website where you click to skip.

Even though they send you reminders, should you forget to skip AND forget to select an outfit, you will be charged $29.95 and you will have a credit on the site to use any time you like. I have a few credits waiting for me, and I actually love having them, because sometimes FabKids will come out with a brand new outfit mid-month that I love and I can just snap it up on the spot!

fabkids gold sparkle shoes 1

Don’t forget to check out their extensive collection of shoes while you are on the site, as well as their sale section. You can pretty much always find some really good deals in addition to the cute, affordable outfit you select. Best of all? It comes straight to your front door!

Buy 1 Get One Free Offer

Right now FabKids has a great offer for anyone who isn’t already a member. Get signed up for the VIP program and buy your first outfit, and you’ll get to select a second outfit for free! Woo hoo! It’s a great time to join with savings like that, friend. And you can cancel your membership at any time if you decide it just isn’t for you.
