A few months ago I wrote about a wonderful opportunity to get a canvas portrait virtually free from Canvas People. Before I wrote that post, I did my homework to make sure it wasn’t a “too good to be true” situation. This is a legitimate company that is spending marketing dollars in a creative way: by giving away their products so that customers can see for themselves what a wonderful product they can get from Canvas People and then spread the word. I like their style!

They are running a wonderful promotion for $55 off any size canvas. Here are their canvas prices:

So…an 8×10 would be free, and you’d just pay $14.95 shipping (and by the way, their shipping prices are right in line with other canvas companies, so they didn’t inflate them for the promotion).

I’m going to get one as a Christmas present for my parents, I think. And (almost) free is a price that fits nicely with my super tight budget. Here’s what I’m getting. This is a dress my mom bought for Darah before she was born and she wanted a picture of her in it so bad. The only way I could get her to smile that day was by giving her my pearl necklace. Ha!

As we are getting closer to Darah’s first birthday, I’m becoming more frantic about finding ways to capture these precious baby moments. It sort of reminds me of the last few months of my pregnancy when I wished so badly that I could bottle all of the free time I had, because I knew I soon would wish for a little bit of that freedom back!

Now, my mama didn’t raise a fool, so I inquired further to see what the catch is for this awesome deal. NO CATCH! Canvas People is so confident that they have a quality product to offer that they are willing to give it away in order for people to see for themselves. They believe that you will be so impressed with the photo you receive that you’ll tell your friends, and maybe even come back later and do business with them!

There’s really only $14.95 at risk, and given the fact that these canvas prints retail for $55.00 plus shipping and handling, I’m willing to give them a try! I did some online sleuthing at other shops that offer canvas photos, and their prices are totally in line with what other places are charging, so this isn’t a case of “inflated prices and crazy S&H; to make you think you got a good deal” type thing. Also, if you want something larger than an 8×10, you can just take $55 off the price of whichever size you want. Cool, huh?
