I’ve decided that I’ve got to get my RSS feeds under control. I currently am subscribed to 225 blogs. That is nuts, and I can NEVER keep up with them all. I’ve actually noticed that reading my blogs is not as much fun as it used to be, simply because there are so many. I groan a bit when I check my reader and see that I have 700 new posts to read. Sheesh!
So I’m cutting back. WAY back. My goal is to get to 100 blogs. That’s still a ridiculous amount, but perhaps more manageable.
Many of the blogs that will get cut are ones that don’t update regularly, or that focus on products and services of little interest to me.
This exercise is a really good one for me, and it also has me thinking about my own blog and what motivates people to come back, or perhaps to unsubscribe, or even never subscribe in the first place.
This is a review and giveaway blog. No doubt about that. And so, it will never be a blog that has post after post of deeply personal stories or majorly thought-provoking topics. While I strive to make all of my reviews personal (or else they’d be boring, right?), the focus is definitely on products. That won’t speak to everyone, and that’s ok.
But if you read this blog, why have you stuck around? I’d really love to hear! And what are things that you’d love to read about here?. What keeps you coming back to other review and giveaway sites (or causes you to leave them)? I’d really love to hear your thoughts. I may need to do a little house cleaning on my own site to ensure that when other blog readers clean out their RSS feeds, I have a shot at making their “Top 100” list!
Thanks in advance for your feedback!
