Cowboy Playground CD Review and GIVEAWAY!!!

Do you have a little cowboy or cowgirl in your home? Or do you have a trip planned to the Wild West this summer? There’s a really fun CD that Putumayo Kids has jut put out that will create the perfect setting for an outdoor adventure!

The CD is called Cowboy Playground and it is full of really fun songs that you may recognize, such as Pecos Bill, Home on the Range, Happy Trails and Whoopie Ti Yi Yo.

These are all songs that I know, but that I never thought to teach to Darah. Now that we have this CD, she is learning them and loving them (especially Whoopie Ti Yi Yo, which really makes her laugh). I think this is the perfect music for summer days, and it also brings up a lot of great imaginary play ideas!

Win it!: One lucky Stuff Parents Need reader will win a copy of Cowboy Playground!

Instrumental Dreamland: A Soothing, Sleepytime CD! (GIVEAWAY!!!)

The “to do” list I have as we get closer and closer to our baby’s arrival is getting pretty out of control. The stress level in my house is being kicked up a few notches. To add to the stress, everyone in my house is getting really sick! Just when I thought we were going to get through the winter without any major illnesses…

To help calm my nerves, I’ve actually been borrowing heavily from Darah’s music collection. Go ahead and judge if you want, but she’s got an album that is absolutely perfect for helping me take a deep breath and just relax. It’s called Instrumental Dreamland, and it is my ticket to calm!

This is the first all-instrumental album from Putumayo Kids, and after listening to it, I can tell you that they are really on to something! The album features songs you already know and love (What a Wonderful World, Brahm’s Lullaby) as well as plenty of music that will be new to your ears, but equally as soothing. Songs feature such instruments as the harp, piano, the acoustic guitar and even an instrument I did not previous know, the kora.

Just as I have enjoyed every single album I have received from Putumayo Kids, this one is definitely know exception. I’d say it’s getting the most play time of them all, actually! You can pick up a copy for yourself for $14.98.

Win it!: One lucky Stuff Parents Need reader will win a copy of Instrumental Dreamland!

A Perfect Soundtrack for the Holiday: Celtic Christmas Review and GIVEAWAY!!!

Putumayo, the parent company behind one of my favorite children’s music production companies, Putumayo Kids, has just released a fantastic cd that is absolutely perfect for your holiday parties, for listening to while wrapping presents, or for just having on in the background while you relax and enjoy the holiday season. It’s called Celtic Christmas, and it is delightful!

The music on this cd doesn’t have any lyrics, and I really like that; the music itself has the opportunity to shine! Don’t just take my word for how great the cd is, though. Have a listen for yourself here! My personal favorite is O Come, O Come Emmanuel. What a gorgeous rendition!

Buy it!: Celtic Christmas is available for $14.98 and would make a wonderful addition to your holiday music collection.

Win it!: One lucky Stuff Parents Need reader will win your own copy of Celtic Christmas! :-)

Putumayo Acoustic Dreamland CD (GIVEAWAY!!!)

It’s time to talk about some new music selections for the little ones!!! Today I’m highlighting Acoustic Dreamland, the fifth CD in the Dreamland series by Putumayo Kids.

Let me back up a bit and tell you about Putumayo Kids! It is a record label that is committed to introducing kids to cultures all around the world through music! They have two primary series: Playground and Dreamland. Today’s feature is the newest Dreamland cd, and it joins a great group of other cds that are already out, including Dreamland, African Dreamland, Asian Dreamland and Celtic Dreamland.

The CDs in their playground collection are too numerous to name, but they have an incredible selection, with some of my favorites being Animal Playground and Caribbean Playground!

Ok, so back to Acoustic Dreamland. You guys, this is such a sweet cd. I adore it! It has this mellow, folksy vibe, and you just can’t help but slow yourself down once you start to listen to it. Quite simply, it is the very best cuddle music I have yet to find! I also like that the songs are pretty easy to pick up, so that you can start singing right along with them. You might even recognize some of the tunes, as the CD includes songs originally recorded by the Allman Brothers, James Taylor, Wilco and Mary Chapin Carpenter!

This cd is just perfect for the time right before bed, when we need to start winding down and relaxing. The play time is 31 minutes, which is absolutely perfect. I very highly recommend it if you are looking for some music to play to help set the mood for dreaming!

Buy it!: Acoustic Dreamland is available for $13.10 on Amazon! It’s a great buy!
