Disclaimer: I am sharing my own personal experience, but I am NOT offering medical advice of any sort. PLEASE take great care when deciding which brand of essential oils to use in your home, as 98% of the oils on the market contain synthetic chemicals and additives and could cause reactions when applied to the skin or ingested. Please consult your physician should you have any questions or concerns. Essential oils have not been tested by the FDA.
The day my premium starter kit from Young Living landed on my doorstep, I was excited, overwhelmed, and most of all, scared. I was scared that I had just spend $150+ on oils that wouldn’t do squat. I decided to put them to the test by starting with the reason I was so intrigued in the first place: I wanted t know how to stop someone from snoring, and I had heard that one of these oils blends could handle it.
Oh, by the way, the “someone” I wanted to get to stop snoring was me. 🙂
So here’s how it works, and I promise you it is every bit as easy as it sounds. What you need is an essential oil blend from Young Living called Valor. This particular oil blend is so hugely popular that you can only purchase one 5ml bottle of it per month, per account. Valor contains the following oils: spruce, rosewood, blue tansy and frankincense. So you take 1 drop of this oil, and put it on the top of the back of your big toe. Repeat for the other side. Then go to bed. Done!
Why the Big Toe?
Ok, so my first question about this was why in the heck putting an oil blend on your big toe would cause snoring to stop. If you check out information on Vita Flex Points on your body, you will learn that the top of your big toe is connected to your brain, an the brain is the place where some stuff needs to go down in order for snoring to cease. I wish I could explain the science of the oils better, but we’ll just have to leave it at that!
How I Know It Works
When I told my husband that I would going to rub some essential oils on my big toe and stop snoring, he looked at me like I had totally lost my mind. I actually remember pausing for a minute after I told him and thinking about just how crazy I sounded! But after trying it for a night I had proof positive that it worked. My husband did report that he couldn’t recall if I had been snoring the night before, but that’s not really sufficient evidence. What was most telling was the fact that my husband’s sleep app that he had been using faithfully for a few months and that registered the quality of his sleep indicated that he had the best night of sleep he had experienced in over 2 months that night. BOOM! No snoring! And of course, I continue to use it and continue to NOT snore. It’s a beautiful thing, people!

How to Get Valor
Since only 1 bottle of Valor can be ordered per account each month, I’m not able to purchase this oil for anyone else, unfortunately. I have to order it for my snoring and as part of an anti-blues regimen that my husband uses (and LOVES!). BUT…I want to spread the love! So if you sign up for your own wholesale account with Young Living under me, order the premium starter kit, and add Valor on to your order before you finish checking out, I will personally reimburse you for the Valor so that you have your own bottle to try for FREE! 🙂 I know firsthand how much more peaceful bed time is without the snoring, and I want everyone who is currently sleep-deprived due to the sound of sawing logs to get some relief. For more information on what it means to join Young Living, click here. And don’t worry, it’s like joining Costco…no commitments to buy more stuff, and no pressure to sell anything to your friends. Just amazing oils at better-than-retail prices! Questions? Feel free to reach out to me at stuffparentsneed (at) gmail (dot) com and I’ll do my best to help you out!
Hi Tiffany!
It’s good to know that aside from RC and Thyme, Valor is also a remedy for snoring! I have been using earplugs for more than a decade until I signed up for Young Living just recently. i tried RC, neat, over the throat, and thyme neat on both big toes of my husband’s. Both oils worked but sometime, if he is really tired from work, I still woke up in the middle of the night because a tractor is inside our room! But both oils I mentioned also works on him up to this time, except when he is realy, realy tired.
I will try valor this time, and promise to get back to you with the results.
Thank you very much for sharing your amazing experience regarding Young Living Essential Oils. Happy Oiling!
Has anyone tried this for sleep apnea?
I’m learning a lot about essential oils so all this is very interesting ! My so snores so loud that it sounds like s freight train at night!! I’m going to get some to have him try, his girlfriend will love me!
OMG if this works tonight you will be my favorite person of the year possibly for ever!!!! I can’t wait for Jeff to get home and go to sleep tonight. I think I will soak his feet in the Valor LOL. Thanks so much.
Kristi
I tried this Valor oil for my husband multiple times and it doesn’t work. Very disappointing since it’s not a cheap remedy.
Oh what a bummer! Essential oils do have some varyance in how people respond to them (just as medications do). A different oil I have heard folks report great results with for snoring is thyme, so that might be one to look into!
Putting it on my husband’s toe alone didn’t work but I had him put it on his feet (you can dilute with a carrier oil such as olive oil) and it knocked his snoring down so much that it was wonderful)! I have also just read that using a drop on each temple has worked wonders for many rather than using on the feet. Haven’t tried yet but you can bet I will. If you already have a bottle of it, it may be worth giving it a shot. Good luck!
Do you know if Valor is safe to
use on dogs?
My dog snores so bad that I’m considering licking her in the laundry room. I feel bad about it but she’s keeping me up at night and I can’t take it much longer.
I’ve tried marjoram on her but it’s not helped.
I was wondering if you could give a little more detail of where to put the oil on your toe. It sounds to me put your foot flat on the floor go to your big toe and put the drop back by where your toe and foot meet is that correct>
Put a drop on the top of each big toe.. My husband has been using this for about a month and works wonders for him, unless he really tired then it works, but not as well. Sandlewood is another oil that works well.. Each individual is different, so you may have to do some research and see what is best for you..
I’ve been using valor a lot lately to help relieve pelvic pain from my pregnancy. I had no idea about the rule that you can only buy one bottle per account each month. That’s interesting!
Thanks for sharing this. I will be trying this on my husband so that I can get some sleep! Can you share the anti-blues formula you use for him? Love reading your articles and blogs. Thanks for sharing stuff we need!
