Public Service Announcement: How to Perform CPR
Ever worry that you wouldn’t know what to do in an emergency situation? It’s a common concern. Nearly 70% of Americans feel they are not able to provide proper CPR should it be necessary. ACLS National has posted the latest guidelines to effective CPR as part of their Be A Shield campaign. This free public education service is intended to improve knowledge and understanding of CPR and basic lifesaving skills. Through the Be A Shield series parents can learn how to provide CPR to an adult, child and infant as well as how to recognize and treat heat exhaustion and choking. Take a few minutes to review the basics of CPR and gain the confidence that comes with knowing how to act in an emergency.
ACLS National is a medical education and training company that provides professional certification courses throughout the United States.
I’d also highly recommend getting this magnet to have on your fridge. It is very easy to reference if you are at home and find yourself with a choking child (been there…it’s very hard to be calm and do a google search at that moment, trust me!).
Thanks to ACLS National for partnering with Stuff Parents Need for this Public Service Announcement.

Thank you so much for blogging about this, it’s much appreciated.
Since infant and child CPR is usually required for babysitting certifications and other childcare workers, I’m always surprised it isn’t “required” training as part of pre-natal care. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. This is very useful and something more parents need to know about. You never know when this could come into use. And it is always better to be safe then sorry. Thank you Tiffany.
I don’t know if people realize this but CPR training has changed over the last few years–the class I took when my first daughter was born was not the same as the one I took six years later for my second daughter. Never hurts to brush up!
