There is a Dollar Tree in the shopping center where I do the majority of my grocery shopping. I try to pop in at least twice each month to see if there are any cool new finds or great deals. I always love hearing when other bloggers find cool stuff to buy for a dollar at the Dollar Tree, so I thought I’d share 3 things I recently bought that I love.

1. Whales. These are a great alternative to goldfish! Darah doesn’t really eat goldfish, yet, but her daddy does, in a major way! I wouldn’t go as far as to say that these are “good” for you, but they have no trans fats and not artificial colors or flavors (hard to believe, but true!). And they are, you guessed it, $1.00. Goldfish are a rare treat for Tim because they are a bit pricey and are really just junk food. But he can have these much more often since they are just $1.00!

2. Halloween decor. I love the trend of having white pumpkins as part of the holiday decorations. My budget is super tight for decorating (pretty much anything that isn’t necessary must be carefully considered before it is purchased these days), but I thought I could fork over the dollar, especially since I’d be getting something I’ve been coveting! And no spray paint involved!

3. Trash bags. I REALLY hesitated before purchasing these. In my experience, you get what you pay for when it comes to trash bags. Still, I just couldn’t resist the chance to get my trash bags for about 5 cents each, so I went for it. I’m glad I did! They are most definitely not heavy duty, and Hefty trash bags are better, but I’m finding these to perform better than the Wal-Mart brand, which is what I had been buying. They are cheaper, too! Give them a try and see what you think!
