My girls (and yeah, also their mom) are TOTALLY into all things My Little Pony. We have two plastic lidded bins full of ponies and play sets and we love to recreate scenes from the show we love, or invent whole new scenes (like making a pony parade!).

I was excited to see that Hasbro has recently launched mini figurines in the Equestria Girls line. So now we can play with our Equestria figures more easily alongside our ponies. Here’s a look at the Rarity play set, which is designed to be a beauty parlor.

Darah really enjoyed getting to set up a little beauty shop and she wanted to get to show you what she put together in this quick video:

Let’s take a closer look at the Rarity Equestria girls figurine, since she’s the focus of the set.

She’s super cute! But do be warned…that huge head of hers makes it a little tricky to get her to stand up without assistance. It’s not impossible, but a younger child might struggle with it.

Here are some of the other accessories that come with the set.

As you saw in the video, the perfume bottle is the biggest hit, and Darah’s been using the hair dryer and the curling iron on the ponies who have come into the shop to get their manes styled. The little box pictured here will hold one or two accessories, but it won’t hold them all.

Most everything will fit on this shelving unit, though, which is just a fun addition to any pony play scenes, so we are glad to have it. And of course, we are so thrilled to have our very own pet cat Opal to admire. We know what it’s like to have a fiesty feline in the house, so she’ll fit right in!

Overall, it’s a very cute set and Darah seemed more taken with this size figurine than with the larger Equestria dolls that are similar in size to a Barbie. She really likes being able to have her Equestria figurine interact with her ponies, which makes sense!
