Last weekend my family headed down to Six Flags Over Georgia to attend the media preview of a brand new event being offered select days and nights through January 4, 2015. Check out what we saw at the Holiday in the Park celebration.
The park has been transformed into 10 different areas with different holiday themes, and 1 million twinkling lights to really get your family in the holiday spirit.
Individuals and families can take a special train ride to the North Pole to meet Santa and snap a photo. You’ll see the ground covered in “snow” while you are there. And yes, you can even ride several different coasters, as well as some kid-friendly offerings.
My children really enjoyed the Looney Tunes holiday show, though if I had to do it over again, I would choose the bigger show that happened at the Crystal Pistol Music Hall. I thought we’d easily be able to fit all the offerings in during our evening trip, but it turns out that there is so much to see and do that you may have to make some choices about what to see and what to skip.
But even with all the entertainment being offered, I’d encourage you to take some time to simply enjoy the beautiful light displays.
I also think purchasing one of the s’mores kits available and heading out to the fire pits nearby is a great idea and a fun way to make some memories.
And don’t forget to take some time to play in the snow on Main Street!
This event is free to current season pass holders. Ticket information and dates can be found on the Six Flags Over Georgia website. I think this is a delightful way to celebrate the season; Six Flags Over Georgia did an excellent job for their inaugural year!
