I’ve been using the Honest Company’s Organic Healing Balm for over a year now, and I continue to be amazed at what an extremely versatile product this is.
It’s important to note that a healing balm isn’t intended to be an exact substitution for lotion. It is very thic (think sort of like Vaseline) so it doesn’t spread all that far. But just because you can slather it all over your entire body, that doesn’t mean that this product isn’t crazy useful.
Here are some of the ways I use it.
1. Overdrive for your lotion
I actually will add a dollop of organic healing balm to the lotion I’m about to apply to my body and mix it together really well before applying it. That’s one way that I manage to get a bit of this product all over without having to use half the tube. I think it gives my lotion an extra boost of intense moisturization power, too.
2. Hair serum
Yep, you can take a tiny dab (like the size of a pea) and rub it vigorously between your hands and then run those hands through dry hair to help cut down on the frizz factor. This is such a great hack for those of us in humid climates.
3. Dry Patches
Do you have any areas of your skin that just seem to struggle? For me, it’s the heels of my feet and my elbows. I apply the organic healing balm to those areas on the regular and it makes a really huge difference.
4. Lip Balm
The ingredients in this balm are perfectly safe to apply to the lips, as well. I love when a product can do so many jobs at once, especially if I’m traveling so that I don’t have to carry as much with me.
5. Brow Gel
A very tiny amount of this product can also be used to help your eyebrows look nice and smooth and to keep everything right where it should be.
6. Hand Therapy
Before heading to bed, apply the balm to your cuticles, or even to the entirety of your hands. It provides amazing moisturization and helps keep those hands looking and feeling soft.
7. Baby Balm
If you have a little one in the home, try this product out for diaper rash, or even just for a little hand or foot massage.
8. Eye Wrinkle Attack
I’m of the age where those fine lines around my eyes aren’t quite so “fine” anymore. I’ve been dabbing a tiny amount of this product right in that area (obviously not going close enough to get into my eyes) and I’ve been really pleased with the results. This is another hack to try right before bed.
Honest Organic Healing Balm contains sunflower, olive and coconut oils as well as shea butter. Those are all absolutely fabulous ingredients for skin health and happiness. There’s also Tamanu oil, which I have read is great at restoring skin’s moisture, as well as chamomile and calendula which are soothing agents. It is a certified organic product, as well.
Where to Buy Honest Company Products
I feel great about applying it to my own skin and I feel great about putting it on my kiddos. I definitely recommend getting hooked up with Honest Company bundles because through that program, you get 5 products for $35.95, and the healing balm is one of the products you can choose. That brings the price down from $12.95 to $7.20, which is a no-brainer. And of course, it’s super easy to change the dates of your bundles (all done online and you get reminders when your date is nearing so you don’t forget), and it’s also a simple phone call to cancel and they give you no hassle (I know because I have cancelled a diapers and wipes bundle after my youngest potty trained).
If you’d rather not go through the Honest Company’s bundles, you can purchase this item at retail price through Buy Buy Baby or Nordstrom as well.
